Which Edition?
Pyxen comes in two editions. They make the same games and open the same .pyxen projects.
- Pyxen from pyxen.com, for the Mac and Windows: bought through Paddle, with a licence key.
- Pyxen from the App Store, for the iPad and the Mac: bought in the app with your Apple Account.
Pyxen from pyxen.com also has folder projects and Connect an AI App.
Where updates come from
Pyxen from pyxen.com updates itself: Pyxen › Check for Updates… on the Mac, Help › Check for Updates… on Windows. Pyxen from the App Store is updated by the App Store.
Each new version comes to pyxen.com first, and to the App Store once Apple has reviewed it. So for a while, the two editions can have different versions: Settings › About shows yours, and What’s New says which version brought each change.
On the Mac
Both Mac editions are named Pyxen in Applications, so installing the one from pyxen.com replaces an App Store copy. Each keeps its own purchase, and Pyxen from pyxen.com lists the App Store edition’s projects and opens them where they are: see Buying Pyxen.
