Buying Pyxen

Pyxen for Windows and for the Mac, from pyxen.com, is sold by Paddle, our reseller and the merchant of record: you buy it from Paddle, not from us. It is one product, Pyxen, full licence: Windows and Mac · one key for 2 computers at once.

Until you buy it, you are trying Pyxen: every project opens and stays editable, you can save 3 projects, and builds carry the “Made with Pyxen” watermark. The full licence gives you:

Buy Pyxen

  1. Choose Unlock in the toolbar. The same sheet opens when you save more projects than trying Pyxen allows, and when you export a build that needs the licence.
  2. Choose Buy Pyxen…. The checkout opens in your browser: Paddle takes the payment and your country’s tax. The price is the one the checkout shows.
  3. Pyxen waits on Finish in your browser. When you’ve paid, we email your licence key. Closed the page? Choose Open Checkout Again: nothing is charged twice.

You can also buy Pyxen before you install it, or for someone else: on pyxen.com/pricing, choose Buy Pyxen. The same checkout opens, the key comes by email, and the thank-you page links the download.

Enter your licence key

  1. Copy the key from the email. It looks like PYXEN-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
  2. In the sheet, choose Enter Licence Key…. When a key is on your clipboard, Pyxen offers it: A licence key is on your clipboard:. A key typed with spaces or in lower case is read back to you (Reads as …).
  3. Choose Activate.

Pyxen is unlocked at once, and says which place the computer takes: This PC · 1 of 2 computers (on the Mac, This Mac · 1 of 2 computers). If you were saving a project, the save goes on.

Activating sends the key and this computer’s name, never your projects.

If the key isn’t taken, the sheet says why:

Two computers at once

One key works on 2 computers at once, Windows or Mac in any mix.

On a third computer, the sheet says This Key Is on 2 Computers and lists both, with their name and when each was last seen. Pick the one you no longer use, then choose Deactivate and Continue: its place goes to this computer, which is unlocked. The other one goes back to trying Pyxen the next time it’s online; its projects stay where they are, and the key can be activated there again later.

Deactivate this computer

Open Pyxen › Settings… (on Windows, Edit › Settings…) and choose Licence. It shows who the licence is for and when it was bought, the key (Show and Copy) and this computer’s place: This PC · 1 of 2 computers.

Before you give a computer away or wipe it, choose Deactivate This Computer…, then Deactivate. Every project stays where it is, opens and stays editable. The computer goes back to trying Pyxen, and its place is free: the key can be activated there again, or on another computer.

Your key is in the email we sent when you bought Pyxen. You can also copy it here before you deactivate.

Updates

Pyxen from pyxen.com, on Windows and on the Mac, keeps itself up to date. The second time you open it, it asks whether to check for updates automatically; if you say yes, it looks once a day and says something only when a new version is out. Open Pyxen › Settings… (on Windows, Edit › Settings…) and choose Licence: Updates shows your version and when Pyxen last checked (Version 26.8 (812) · checked today). Turn Check automatically on or off there, and choose Check Now to look at once, as Pyxen › Check for Updates… does (on Windows, Help › Check for Updates… in a project’s window). Nothing is downloaded before you choose to install, and Pyxen installs an update only once its signature is checked.

Refunds

Within 14 days of buying it, ask and you get all of it back, no questions asked: see the Terms of Use. Paddle took the payment, so a refund is made through Paddle: write to [email protected] from the address you bought with, and we’ll take it from there. Once a licence is refunded, the computers it was on go back to trying Pyxen, and Settings › Licence says so. Every project is where it was.

Bought on the App Store?

If you bought Pyxen on the App Store, that purchase unlocks Pyxen from the App Store, on the iPad and the Mac. This edition takes a licence key. Pyxen for iPad and for the Mac from the App Store is a separate purchase, made in the app with your Apple Account: it doesn’t take a licence key, and a licence key doesn’t unlock it. The two purchases aren’t linked: an App Store purchase doesn’t unlock this edition, and it gives no credit or upgrade price for the full licence.

Pyxen from the App Store has no folder projects and no Connect an AI App. Its purchase, and a refund of it, go through the App Store: restore it with Restore Purchases in the App Store edition, and ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

On a Mac with both, each one keeps its own projects and its own purchase. Pyxen from pyxen.com also lists the App Store edition’s projects, in iCloud Drive › Pyxen or on this Mac, and opens them where they are: nothing is moved or copied. It also adds the App Store edition’s recent projects to its own, once. Both are named Pyxen in Applications, so putting one there replaces the other.

Which Edition? compares the two editions and says where each one’s updates come from.
